The holidays were nice. We did our usual of spending Christmas with Hubs family. On Christmas Eve, as usual, we celebrated Hub's father's birthday. Hubs family are really big on gifts. All the younger kids in the family got gifts from their uncle and aunts families. We took the living room hostage. It was crazy. Wrapping paper flying, kids ooh ahhing, kids crying, parents yelling at their kids to say thank you, every adult that left the room were sweating and flushed. It was crazy. Sometimes I feel lost in such a big family but in the end there are more blessings.

I want to document one really sweet moment. Jadyn has always been a granddad girl. She loves hubs dad from the moment she started walking. Granddad always was throwing her up in the air and giving what ever Jadyn asked for. The bond is so sweet. There was another grand child who had such a bond. My nephew Pat Jamie. Now he's 8 and he's got competition... my jadyn. Pat Jamie would sit on Granddad's lap when we sing Happy Birthday and he got to blow out the candle for the last 6 years. When I went into the dining room to sing happy birthday, I saw Jadyn sitting on Granddad's lap and poor Pat Jamie standing beside them. We sung happy birthday and at the moment we sang the last word of the happy birthday song, the candles went out. Pat Jamie blew them out but he did it so discreetly that no one knew what happened. But Grand dad knew that Jadyn didn't have a chance to blow them out. So he made everyone, Bill's whole family, all 30 of them, to re-sing and he made sure that Jadyn got to blow out his birthday candles. It brought tears to my eyes. It was so sweet. Jadyn was so happy. No wonder she loves her Granddad.

Hey A! It's been a while. Thanks for your thoughts. I hope you and the family are well...it's nice that we can "virtually" keep in touch through Blogger and Facebook, at least!

Be well.
