FIA

The sweetest thing happened that brought tears to my eyes. Our pastor's daughter just turned 2 in December and she is such a cute and beautiful girl. I've had the opportunity to get to know this little girl whose known to be such a "diva". If anyone has spent any time with her, they'll know that "Fia" loves her food. She is a great eater and she's constantly looking for food to eat.

One time, at our football tournament Fia and her family came out to support us. One of our teammates parents brought food for the team and those supporting us. I was sitting on a blanket and I see Fia running around. My Hubs had to go get the drinks and he left his plate of food behind me. I'm busy chatting and in my side view, I notice Fia was alone with a plate of food. She was squatting korean style and grabbing the pasta with her hands and feeding herself. I was amazed that her parents let her go crazy with a plate full of food unsupervised. Then I see her with a drum stick and she's licking it and trying to take some bites. Then I hear her daddy yelling, "Fia, what are you doing? that's not your plate." Then he looks up and he asks whose plate is was. I remember the plate that hubs left and I said that it was hubby's. I didn't think twice and I'm busy chatting away. Hubs comes back and looks at his plate and he had this puzzled look and asks, "Is this my plate?" I said, yeah not thinking that Fia had taken bites here and there from his plate. And then when I took a quick breath from my conversation, I looked at hubs and he was chewing on his drumstick. I let out a huge laugh and I told him," I forgot to tell you that Fia took bites of your food and .... she was licking your drumstick like crazy." He gazes down at his half eaten drumstick and cringes and then shrugs his shoulder and continued eating it. Ah! So funny.

So knowing how much Fia LOVES food, I didn't think sharing her food would be an easy thing. A couple months back, she had a hard time sharing oranges and her mommy kept telling her that they have a lot of oranges and that she needed to share. Her mommy tells me of stories where she'd take food from other kids plate. She loves her food. So yesterday at church, I see Fia and I ask for a kiss. She gives me a kiss and she looks up at me. We gaze at each other for a few minutes and she breaks the one last potato chip in her hand and gives me a half. I don't take it at first because I didn't think she was giving it to me. I actually thought she was showing me she was eating a potato chip. But she kept saying, "eat...eat." She was giving me the half and then I took it. I tell her thank you and then she was about to eat the remaining half but then she stopped and then ... she turned to me and she offered me her remaining half. It brought tears to my eyes. She loves me... she really loves me. I told the story to Hubs and he said, "Wow, she must really really love you." hahahahahaha

I've been feeling really crummy this past week and this was such a spirit booster. She really touched my heart. I wanted to document it. Thanks, Fia!! You are a special gal.

Aw! Who wouldn't love you! Just the few times I've interacted with her, it's been related to food somehow.

That is such a sweet story! She really must love you! LN did something similar (I need to document it before I forget) with chocolate and I had the same feeling.

So funny that hubs kept on eating that drumstick! :-D
