Next week, E is going to get all her teeth capped. I feel like I failed as a parent. E developed a nasty habit. Drinking juice to bed. I heard from many people that it's bad and I remembered my younger brother having to get his two front teeth pulled because of drinking juice to bed. I never imagined that I'd have to take my 3 year old daughter to the hospital , have her under go anesthia and get all her teeth capped. I thought brushing her teeth and giving her fluoride would be sufficient to fight off cavities. The procedure was originally planned for march 7th but 2 weeks ago, she's been complaining of teeth pain. We called our dentist and they bumped it up. I'm thankful but I'm so scared. I wished that I was strong enough to deny her. "Accidental parenting"... I am queen.
When I came home and told doc bro about having to cap all her teeth. he said ..."She's going to have blinging teeth. Gold and diamonds... she's going to look like those rappers." Ugh!! He can be so mean. No, I will not get her grillz.
I hope that the procedure will go smooth and she won't be in too much pain.
No drinking juice especially to bed.

that picture is so funny... but not if you try to imagine E with those shiny teeth! i'm sure she'll be fine through the procedure... and just relieved to not have anymore tooth pain. btw, G is now recognizing both your daughters in pictures and saying their names :D
We'll be praying for her!
Oh, poor E! We'll be praying for her for minimal pain and quick recovery.
I've been meaning to ask other parents if they gave their children fluoride supplement. We don't have any fluoride in our water and the doctor gave us a prescription, but we weren't sure if it was necessary or not. I know all doctors have different opinions on this topic: the conservative ones say yes and the others say it's not necessary as they'll get a little bit here and there through some other means.
Aw, poor baby! The thought of it scares ME and I'm in my 30's... I'm super paranoid about dental issues because I had cavities early and my mom's had dental issues all her life. I hope it's not all genetic!
Man, that's major for a 3 year old. Hugs to both of you! (And don't be so hard on yourself - they don't give you a lot of dental help until the kid is at least 3 years old - at least that's how it is here with our dental clinic....)
funny pic. i thought about getting grills, like nelly, but they're costly...$$$ =P
how is E doing?
